Common GMC Parts to Replace or Upgrade
If you drive a vehicle for a long time, you’ll inevitably have to replace GMC parts as necessary. While these parts are meant to last for a while, some need more attention when they wear out. To that end, the Patriot Buick GMC team has assembled this list of common GMC parts to replace or upgrade.
Tires
The rubber on your tires will naturally wear down after repeated trips on rough roads. You’ll want to periodically check your treads to see if they’re ready for replacement, as well as examine every tire for leaks. You may also want to upgrade your tires for off-roading or seasonal weather, depending on your preference.
Brake Pads
Another part that wears down regularly are brake pads, as these are what generate the friction that slows your car down. That’s why it’s important to inspect your brakes and replace your brake pads as necessary. Otherwise, you won’t have proper stopping power.
Batteries
After enough time on the road, your vehicle’s battery will lose its charge and no longer work. As such, you’ll either need to recharge the load cell if possible, or otherwise replace it with a new battery.
Filters
There are various filters around your vehicle, including in the coolant system and your air conditioner. These will naturally gather dirt and detritus and will need to be replaced regularly to ensure proper airflow.
Spark Plugs
The spark plugs provide the initial jolt you need to get your engine started. These little parts occasionally need replacement if they fail, which you’ll want to inspect.
