Powerful Engine and Off-Road Readiness
The base HUMMER EV2 contains a dual motor setup that generates 625 horses, and the GM touted 7400 lb-ft of torque. The unique Ultium® battery technology provides a quick charging time, and the excessively large (170.0 kWh) battery pack offers a range of over 300 miles. Acceleration from zero to 60 mph can be reached in under four seconds, which is unheard of in such a massive SUV.
An optional “extreme off-road package” adds enhanced axles with heavy-duty components, extra under-body protection, and four-wheel steering. The latter feature, called “Crab Mode,” allows you to steer all four wheels at the same time to go sideways and around large objects or boulders.
Range, Charging, and Battery Life
The EV2 features a standard 400-volt electrical system, while the other trims offer a standard 800-volt system. Fuel economy is superior, with 59 MPGe on city streets and 45 MPGe on the highway. Allowing recoupment of 100 miles of range in about 14 minutes is impressive, although 80% of charging capacity can be achieved in under an hour.*
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The rugged yet futuristic feel of the interior provides a 3-D dashboard with dual displays, including a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The flooring contains a recessed storage area, and when the rear seat is folded, an additional 82 cubic feet of cargo space is attainable. The Infinity Roof allows the removal of four transparent panels to create a stellar open-air experience.
Infotainment and Connectivity
